Brief Profile


Comrade Ambrose Kudu, is a seasoned Trade Unionist and Finance Professional with extensive experience spanning over two decades in Public Service and Union administration. He began his career with the Plateau State Tourism Corporation, where he served from 1999 to 2014. During this period, he demonstrated strong leadership within the labour movement, serving as Branch Secretary of AUPCTRE and later as State Treasurer.

In 2014, he formally joined the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) as a State Secretary assigned to the Plateau State Council. His contribution to labour relations were further strengthened through his role as Secretary of the National Joint Public Negotiating Council in Plateau State.

Comrade Kudu was transferred to the AUPCTRE National Secretariat in Abuja in January 2021 as Deputy Head of Department, Finance & Accounts. Owing to his diligence, competence, and commitment to excellence, he was appointed Acting Head of Department, Finance and Accounts in April 2026.

Academically accomplished, he holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Plateau State Polytechnic, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accountancy, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Jos. He also obtained a master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from Kaduna State University. He is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

A committed Labour educator, Comrade Kudu has attended several professional and Trade Union trainings, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) State level school in Jos, NLC Rain school in Uyo, and the Amilcar Cabral Labour school in Accra, Ghana (2024).

As an advocate for social justice, he served as AUPCTRE Focal Person between 2020 – 2025 on the PSI-DGB project focused on “Promoting Transparency and Decent Work in the supply chain in Electricity, water and waste services in Sub-Sahara Africa, thus giving him the platform to participate in Regional meetings within and outside the Country.

He has delivered papers at various seminars and workshops on Trade Union-related issues in States within Nigeria, contributing significantly to knowledge sharing and capacity building within the labour movement.

Comrade Ambrose Kudu is married and blessed with three children. He is widely respected for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of workers rights and sound financial management within the Union.
