INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS AND ORGANISING DEPARTMENT
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Formulate the departments functional strategy, work plans and programmes and ensure alignment with AUPCTRE’s overall corporate strategy on Industrial Relations ,Organization, goals and objectives.
Communicate the Union’s strategies and objectives to all members.Provide overall guidance, leadership support and strategic direction in the execution of the day-to-day activities of the department.
Design and implement need-based, industrial relations and organizational strategies to support AUPCTRE’s goals and Objectives and improve corporate performance. Foster a conducive working climate by maintaining proactive relationships with employer’s/labour unions Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in co-operation with the National/States secretariat and Executive. Manage the human and material resources of the AUPCTRE to optimize performance and enhance output.
Prepare and submit periodic reports on the activities of the department for Board/NEC and NGC decision making. Continually review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the department’s policies, procedures and processes and identify improvement opportunities.Monitoring of key industry relations trends and identification of likely implications for the Union Assist the General Secretary in carrying out some day to day activities.Acts on behalf of, and perform other duties as assigned by the General Secretary or Board.
