Pioneering leadership of AUPCTRE

After the Sokoto Merger Conference of 1996 and adoption of drafted constitution which was voted upon successfully; the following individuals emerged as elected officers of the new Union known as AUPCTRE today at the Sokoto Conference without disagreement.
1. Comrade D.A. Adekola emerged as – National President
2. Comrade Iliya A. Boyi emerged as – Deputy President
3. Comrade Mike Amaike emerged as – Deputy President
4. Comrade R.O. Akinmade emerged as- Deputy President
5. Comrade M.L. Buba –
6. Comrade M. Dabo  –
7. Comrade S. Ibikunle  –
8. Comrade Ezeji  –
9. Comrade G.O. Mdanah  –
10. Comrade M.A. Bello  –
11. Comrade S.I. Williams  –
12. Comrade J.A. Adebayo  –
13. Comrade T. Mshelia  –
14. Comrade L.A. Gwadabe  –

Similarly, in the spirit of the merger, the three (3) Unions (now AUPCTRE) agreed to absorb all their existing officials and staff as full time officers and staff of the newly created Union (AUPCTRE).
(1). Comrade S.O.Z. Ejiofor became the General Secretary (GS) of the new Union known as AUPCTRE. Others include;
(2). Comrade C.A. Ajayi as Deputy General Secretary
(3). Comrade Philip Agbonkon as Deputy General Secretary
(4). Comrade Ibeawuchi as Deputy General Secretary
The three merging Unions where:
i. National Union of Public Corporation Employees (NUPCE)
ii. Civil Service Technical Workers Union of Nigeria (CSTWUN)
iii. Recreational Services Employees Union (RESU)
